My First Spanish Wedding

I had so much fun this weekend Capturing the Moments of my friend Gina's Wedding. the guests were from Equador and Cuba. I thought it was interesting that after the bride walked down the aisle with her father and was met at the alter by her mother and simbolically given to her husband the song that was played was the American National Anthem. followed by the Anthems of each country. The service, very little of which I understood was full of symbols and traditions with which I am not familiar and can't wait to ask Gina about.

The minister talked about a shall he had drapped around his shoulders and then took off and placed aver Gina and Gerardo's heads. Unity candels were lit, rings exchanged, communion served and parents and children came forward and said private blessings to the bride and groom.

It was a very happy service full of love and laughter and one I will always remember.

On a different note I met Hilda, Gina's daughter who did her makeup and is available for other weddings if you are looking for a makeup artist who can do lots of different styles let me know and I will be glad to give you her contact information.

these words brought tears...

Dear Diane,  We just had such a treat in viewing Mason and Melissa's wedding.  What  a handsome,  wholesome couple they are.  We aren't certain that there is an adjective that truly describes your talent as a photographer.  You capture the emotion as well as the photo.  Extraordinary? Beautiful? Unique? You pick.  They all apply but you have a gift of capturing the spirit on film.  The poses are relaxed even in the formal moments.  They all radiate the joy of the event.  We finally found out who took that adorable pose of them on the swing with her in that lovely Carolina blue strapless dress which we received alerting us to put the wedding date on the calendar.  That one warmed our hearts and made us smile.  Job extremely well done.  Thanks so much for sharing the precious book of pictures with us.  We would be happy to pay you for them Diane.  It is obvious that your work began long before the wedding day.  Thanks.

Just Married!

Katie and Chad were married at the VanLandingham Estate on a hot but beautiful day in May.

Everyone had a wonderful time. Lots of laughter, good food and a beautiful couple and setting.

Katie looked wonderful in her dress from David's Bridal. She and Chad choose tiers of cupcakes for their guests topped with a cake for them to cut. The Bride's maids wore short dresses in lilac and carried bouquets of dark purple and white flowers. It was all just perfect!
